I'm reading the new A4D v4 documentation, which is excellent btw, and trying to get a handle (no pun intended) on collection references and iterators.
Collection handles and iterators are interchangeable in many commands but from what I can tell they are not the same. Here's my observation: while both longints, an iterator's value changes depending on what item in a collection it's pointing to. Is that a fair description of an iterator? I noticed the command collection(inCollection) that returns an iterator but it's not clear where to use it. Should I use it after an iterator has been incremented to an item after the first item? In other words, if an iterator no longer points to the first item in a collection, can I still use it in the same place as an handle?
