Been playing a little with Ruby on Rails and digging through all the stuff I find out about Ajax (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML). Not enough to do anything with it, but I was just wondering if it can be implemented in Active4D. I think it uses SOAP as the transport mechanism - providing a WebService.

I've been thinking about is putting up a web server, something like a Ruby on Rail or a php system that is in the public domain (to collect applications for training). I'd like that system to be able to send and receive info from our Active4D system. They'd be some CRUD database, probably in Postgres. Probably just some simple lookup to the Active4D site, and then some management transaction that would put selected CRUD data into 4D.

Probably 50 ways to do this (including buying another 4D Client web license and another license for Active4D). Just searching if anyone has implement some time of Web Service using Active 4D. Looked at web services on 4D, but after reading the documentation a few time, it still did not make sense.
