Just a thought, why not specify 127.0.0.1 as the localIP parameter in
ITK_TCPListen then ITK will (*should*) only accept connections from
localhost, ie your proxied web server.

Excellent Suggestion!

I've tried this on our development server and it seems to have the desired affect. However, I would like to allow one IP through so that I can directly monitor the ITK web server on the alternate port. Since WebSTAR recently fixed the rewrite bug so that a meaningful error page is now returned when the proxied server was unavailable or unresponsive -- previously nothing came back -- I can write a new test in our monitoring application that doesn't have to bypass the proxy.

Out of curiosity is there a way to modify the ITK web server so that it will listen on more than one IP?

Thanks,

Brad

It is definitely possible. Your client is running 10.2.8,
so I think
you need to look at the documentation for the 10.2 firewall.
I'll see what I can figure out. We may also be able to achieve what I want to do by blocking the ITK web server port at the router.

If you can capture some of the URLs that are causing the
hang, I would
like to try them to see if they are hanging for me and why.

I did some more tests and was able to hang client with one of them that looked suspect. I went back and checked and this same URL has shown up in my server logs on or around the time of previous hangs.

Details of the URL are posted in Mantis.

Thanks,

Brad
