David,
In my experience, there is nothing in v3 that is now broken in v4.
Just yesterday I upgrade a 4D v.68 and A4D v3 database to 4D 2004 and
A4D v4.x.
Just re-applied any changes I had made to the the Active4D.ini and
Active4D.a4l and launched and everything worked as before.
Obviously this is just my experience but I really don't think you
will have a problem. A4D v4 is now at rc5 and I would guess that many
of the less trivial bugs are now fixed.
Obviously if you decide to implement any of the new functionality you
will need to give yourself more time.
Regards, Michael.

If you were using v4 (hint, hint) you could skip the wrapper
method and use 'execute in 4d' to execute the relevant commands
within Active4D.
It is fear that is stopping me. Version 3.0 is working very well
with 4D 2003, and is *very* stable.
I'd like to upgrade to 4D Server 2004, and to Active4D v4, but
absolutely all of our company web sites use the combination
throughout and I would have to be completely confident that
everything would still work. It is, as they say, 'mission critical'.
If anyone can reassure me (or otherwise) I'd be grateful.
David
