Thanks, but this preference is set (and the standard charset is ISO-
8859-1). All settings for encodings and charsets in Active4D are on
the default values. Nevertheless I get i.e. for an "ä" (german
umlaut) an "‰". As I said writing the chars via write command
works well, I get a "ä" in the case of the "ä".

I use 4D 2003.6 (with .7 no difference) and the OS is Windows. The
Active4D is built on a basic A4D installation from scratch. The A4D
version is the recent rc6. The only (unsatisfying) solution I found
is encoding the characters in the html code manually.

Any Ideas?
