Thanks for getting back to us.

Are you saying it _always_ ends up in demo mode when started as a
StartupItem and _always_ ends up in deployment mode when restarted
normally? If so, that would definitely seem to be the trigger for
this problem. If not, something else is going on.
I dont know if it happens all the time. We have a development server
that we use, but are unable to get 4D's Register As Service to work
on it. Not sure why.
We cannot test this on the Production server except in the late late
evening and we have not had the chance to do this.
We'll try and test this by Monday.

Lots, unfortunately.
Arealist
Pluggers mysql
ObjectTools
A4D
Pluggers API Pack
4D Pack
4D Open
4D Internet Commands
Footrunner
Qfree
SuperReport
If the license times out, the call to A4D Execute 4D Request returns
-2 as the status (page 67 of the manual).
OK. I see that it is part of the response. But, how would I
intercept this while using the shell as is? I'm not integrating A4D
with a different HTTP request mechanism, just installed the shell and
let 4D and A4D handle the rest as the beginning of that chapter
suggests, "If you are using the shell as is, you may safely skip this
chapter." So I skipped it. :)
Do I need to write something then that intercpets every request to the
A4D and look to see if the status code result is -2?
Thanks,
