Ajax relies on heavy use of XML
Sorry to contradict 4D's technote blurb, but that isn't true. Ajax doesn't rely on the use of XML at all. In fact, now the trend is toward returning JSON-encoded data, which is a much more compact data representation than XML.
In my case I just generate the fully formed HTML on the server side and return that, rather than put tons of display logic in Javascript on the client side. That is also a totally valid use of Ajax.
