Uh oh.. I tried mac to html again, with the '*' option, and that worked. (I tried it before, but I think I had a caching issue, and it didnt seem to be working).
so.. mac to html($string, *) worked. But now I'm not sure what will happen in a form where this field is supposed to be the POSTED value. It's not going to match the stored value after it's been encoded into HTML entities.
