When returning JSON from Active4D, do I need to set any special headers to identify the response type?
No. Prototype allows you to return JSON in a special header and it is automatically parsed if there, but you don't have to do anything special with the content type.

I needed it for myself, it has been extremely useful. I have some updates and bug fixes, I will post a new version next week.
