-> you need a "4D Web Application Extension" to activate more then one external IP address
For my money, I'm more tempted to implement Active4D + NTK instead. Then I don't have to deal with the hassle of deciding how many implementations I may need to run temporarily, nor deciding whether I want a "Server" license, or a "Client" license for the Web Server. All this, I hope, will change for the better when 4D goes the "Apache" route. Right now, the web development picture is insane.. and I'm grateful that Active4D is available as an alternative :) sincerely, mehboob alam Electricity is actually made up of extremely tiny particles called electrons, that you cannot see with the naked eye unless you have been drinking. - Dave Barry --- On Fri, 5/15/09, Peter Schumacher <[email protected]> wrote: > From: Peter Schumacher <[email protected]> > Subject: Re: [Active4d-dev] What do I need to buy from 4D to develop in > Active4D v11? > To: [email protected] > Date: Friday, May 15, 2009, 3:11 PM > Steve, > > what you need is: > > * 4D Developer Professional (SingleUser) > it supports one internal and one external IP > addresss, you can't extend this > > * 4D Server v11 > -> has 2 users (clients) buildt-in > -> you can extend the users (up to 500, according > to 4D) > -> you need a "4D Web Application Extension" to > activate more then one external IP address > -> you do not need the "4D Web Services" > > If you can convince your customer doing everything over the > web, then you need instead of the "4D Server" a "4D Web > Application Server" - carefull: that's the good old "4D > Runtime Classic", just web enabled.
