Well that must be nice not to have to bother with certs now.
The last time I was between jobs - no one would talk to me
without certs - and I've only been working on NT since before it
was first released (1991!). No kidding - there were so many folks out in
the market - they wouldn't "chance" someone who wasn't currently certified!
Talk about being mad. They hired someone who will likely never know as much
as I've forgotten ('cause I've forgotten 3.1 and 3.51 so far. ;) This guy
had little experience - but he had that piece of paper!!

Calm down. Easy boy. Sit back down.
OK, I'm all better now. :)

Same here. When I got my 3.51 MCSE (I don't bother with them now) I used
the ResKit exclusively as my study resource. That was before all these
"cram" resources (don't get me started there) but IMHO, they are worth the
price of admission.

That's a good point Rick. When I got my first certifications
on NT 3.51 - all I studied were the Resource Kits, but that was just
about all that was available. While I know NT/2000, I don't know
anything about Exchange itself... I'm thinking either the Mastering
or the Beginner's Guide and THEN get the Resource Kit later...

a long way in learning Exchange.

Martin,

Would you recommend this over another general reference geared more
towards teaching the nuances? IMHO, I've found the Resource Kits for
all MS products to be a great reference once you have the basics under
your belt.

As a learning aid, don't they leave something to be desired, especially
in this case where it has already been conceded that the requester is a
newbie?

Just interested in your opinion. What am *I* missing?

Thanks!
