This I will have to get back to you on because this domain I do not control
directly, we are a healthcare system that is at the final stages of becoming
a full system, meaning that I need to now think of a way of taking all these
separate domains and making them into one domain tree.

I guess to answer you question to the best of my ability, when users login,
certain parts of the OS are locked, like you can't use the run on the start
menu or right click on the desktop to change background stuff and so on. I
don't know what product he uses to do this.

What sort of custom security have you implemented? [1]

Probably the best (and maybe only) way to find out is to pull a BDC out to
an isolated lab network, promote it to a BDC and then upgrade.

What would happen if I upgraded a NT4 domain that had lots of custom
security implemented? Would it carry over into AD?

Subject: [ActiveDir] Migration Question

Can you take an existing NT4 Domain and upgrade to Win 2K and when
DCPromo
runs make it a child domain of a domain root when the AD Domain is
running
in native mode? I want to find a way to bring in the machine accounts
with
out having to use a tool to migrate them in. Thanks
