Isn't
information about things like message queues available via SNMP? I'm using WUG,
after having used both NetIQ and MOM and am finding that it's a good package for
basic needs, is acceptable at more involved monitoring, has good support, is
pretty configurable, and is nicely priced. We're using it to monitor services,
events, ports, and for SNMP collection.
