That does appear to be another option and it crossed my mind, maybe I’m just trying to make this a bigger problem than it really is. The problem is that all 2k and xp clients point to the 2k servers for DNS, which leads to my question. Can I change the IP address of the 3k server to that of one of the 2k servers once it is out of the loop and not experience any problems?  I read an article about how to do it but would like to know if anyone has done this and if so what should I look out for as far as gotchas,etc.   Thank you in advance Jerry   Scicom Data Services Minnetonka,Mn
