hi if you format your computer you will not have any DNS any more. you should make a DNS on another server. I usually put it on AD. so they will replicate and if you loose one, you will have the other one. but if you put it in a zone file. as I remember you should copy the file to have another DNS on another server. any way to make sure make another DNS on another server make sure that all the things are there and then format your first server. wish you luck. roseta.
