Hi John

1) You might want to check the settings on the switch your NIC connects to after the change to check the speed is set appropriately.  We had some performance problems after a similar move that we later tracked down to this.

2) Presumably the IP address of the DC will change?  If this is the case you should check that the IP change registers in DNS correctly afterwards.  Also, if your DC runs DNS or WINS think about what clients might have the old IP address configured.  If your clients get their settings from DHCP, make sure you update DHCP with the new info.

Subject: [ActiveDir] Two Questions

Hello again out there!

1) I am replacing our 10/100 card on my AD box with gigabit.  Other than setting the IP info to match the what it was on the 10/100 card,  is there anything else I need to do/watch out for to ensure safe and uniterrupted communication once I set the card up?

2)  On the same system, in a couple months we are rolling over to a new ISP and incorporating NAT.  Any recommended ways of doing this?  I am hitting the books and touching the world on this one, just curious if there are any white papers on this?  What is the best way to NAT the Network?  Are there any AD issues with the change in our Class C? etc.
Any input would be appreciated.

Thank you again.
