Todd, I don't think "indexing" is the right term to use here. I'm sure you're just asking about removing attributes from the partial attribute set (the list of attributes included in the Global Catalog).
The answer is "yes" -- you can un-mark an attribute from being included in the GC and it will be removed. For more information (but not much more) see: 232517 - Global Catalog Attributes and Replication Properties http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;232517 --Doug -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Myrick, Todd (NIH/CIT) Sent: Wednesday, June 02, 2004 9:35 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [ActiveDir] Indexing attributes in GC's Greetings all, I have a quick question about indexing attributes in GC's. If you select an attribute to be indexed in a GC. Then decide later to not want the attribute indexed any longer, so you deselect the attribute for indexing in a GC. Will the GC's automatically remove the attribute, or do you need to do some type of cleanup process?
