If I saw a newsletter like you describe out of MS I would start looking
around for Rod Serling.

On the serious side, I think this is a great idea as a whole but would hope
that it stuck to AD core stuff as much as possible with slight jaunts out to
other things that rely on AD such as GPOs, etc. I think the Q&A idea is a
good one as well but again, try to keep it core. If the scope creeps the
newletter would get big and bloaty and would become garbage in the inbox.
You could go all over the map with what AD can help with but so few people
have a strong grasp on the core aspects of it such as replication and data
retrieval/storage that that causes many issues in and of itself.

Get actual developers to write things up. Maybe a developer experiences
piece in every newsletter written by a developer about something they did or
why they did when they were designing a specific feature, etc. Sort of what
you see in the Halo Sybex book or you see in some of the MS Blogs. That
often puts "why" context around the reasoning behind something and sometimes
insight into how best to use it.

Have several pieces on core AD. Then maybe a dev experience article and then
a "using AD" article which talks about plugging in MIIS or Exchange or
whatever. I would really enjoy an article by BrettSh occasionally like
thoughts from Brett as he always has some interesting and strong
opinions/thoughts. Maybe once a quarter or every couple of quarters you get
a "Where we are going and why" from Stuart. The same frequency a where we
were and how we got there and why from DonH.

Finally, how about having the newsletter be a newsletter/web page. That way
one could go to the web site and see all of the previous newsletters as well
and could benefit folks who don't want one more email, but would like to be
able to go out and see them just the same.

Whatever is done, I will sign up, in fact, sign me up if you want to right
now.

oh my.. i definitely like Tony's idea! :)

lovely but .. example..
-----------------------
ReaderK: Is that anyway that AD can detect PCs without patches which have
security loop hole?
MS : Yes, you will... AD will push the computer object into OU named
"Patching_in_Process" and the OU will automatically do everything for you.

ReaderL: What about MS-Blaster or other infecting viruses to a PC?
MS - BG : Say goodbye to Hackers and Packers! :) cause AD will push computer
objects to an OU named Virus_cleaning_in_process which will detect and patch
all the affected PCs in no time!! :)

We will free from Virus World and Security Loophole Forever..yoohoo...
Wow! i definitely like it.......
