Windows 2003 DNS? Very likely to be EDNS.
Try "dnscmd /Config /EnableEDnsProbes 0"
If you don't have dnscmd, try this reghack:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DNS\Parameters
Create a Key called "EnableEDNSProbes" and set the value to DWORD 0x0
Create a Key called "EnableEDNSProbes" and set the value to DWORD 0x0

Subject: [ActiveDir] OT: DNS not resolving mail.yahoo.com
OK, My DNS server (AD integrated) is not resolving mail.yahoo.com (nor finding yahoo's MX record), and I have no clue as how to fix this. It doesnt seem to be a connectivity problem because our BIND DNS server resolves the addresses fine. Any ideas on how to fix this??? Any help is very very much appreciated :) List info : http://www.activedir.org/mail_list.htm List FAQ : http://www.activedir.org/list_faq.htm List archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/activedir%40mail.activedir.org/
