I'm confused by the statement. Is your problem with duplicates or
case-sensitivity or both?

I would expect some issues with case when it comes to Kerb realms depending
on how you have that implemented and what realms are involved. The regular
day-to-day Active Directory only wouldn't care about case. Duplicates would
be different and those should be eliminated.

Can you give some more details about what you're seeing?

Subject: [ActiveDir] case sensitivity issues in user/computer names

Hi All,
We are seeing some issues regarding case sensitivity in user and
computer names. Regarding user names, we see problems involving Kerberos
authentication across realms or via outside authentication methodologies and
possibly in the use of KX509 certificates. Regarding computer names, we see
problems involving SMS client lists with the same computer being listed
twice. While our normal procedures create lowercase user names, we do have
some with all uppercase or mixed case that were migrated from child domains
where there was not as much standardization.

I don't recall this subject coming up on this list and wonder if there are
other issues regarding case sensitivity that are going to bite us in the
a**. I am pushing for both user and computer names to be all lowercase.
Comments appreciated.
