How are you connecting to the shares, browsing to them, NetBIOS, FQDN? I assume that when you say they can not see you mean they can not Browse to them and these systems are on different segments. If that is the case this is likely because the PDC Emulator FSMO role was on that box and one of its responsibilities is merging the browse lists from master browsers on each segment.
