Las Vegas (at least on the main strip) is a 24x7 town - the casinos intentionally crank down the air-conditioning, display no clocks, and keep the lights going full blare so that you have no way of knowing what time it is - all the better to keep you there gambling longer. A common occurence is to walk out of a casino thinking that it's around 11pm, only to find that it's more like 4am.
