Does Tivoli work with Active Directory now? I always remember in seminars that 
MS state all major vendors products work bar one, you take it offline the 
conversation and they detail the issues.

For system state to work correctly, you need to have identical
hardware on the lab machine as to the machine the system state was
taken on. Different hardware will definately create difficulty in
restoring the system state and possibly fail.

So imo, promoting a dc in the domain, forcing replication with a local
dc, then cutting off the wire to the domain, running metadata cleanup
against each other on both ends seems like a better and cleaner idea.

Don't forget to clean out ADSS, ADUC, and DNS on both ends as well.
