I've seen this happen occasionally on other lists, but I don't know if it's the same underlying cause. The original post is encoded in some way, and then the addition of the list footer means that the post isn't properly encoded anymore. Some email clients then display this as a blank post. If you are able to get to the message source in your client, you will see the message contents.
