After they change their password but before disconnecting from the PPTP VPN, ask them to lock and unlock their computer using the new password.  This should update the cached credentials with the new password.   Let us know if it works; have a great day! How are you changing the password? What exactly isn't working? You should be able to simply press CTRL + ALT + DEL and change the password just as you would if you were connected to the network via any other connection.
