Hi Mike,
Thanks for your response, but...
I am not sure I understand.

My web server - is Zeus 3.4 whether I like it or not.
( If I'd had the choice, I'd happily go with Apache,
but I don't. )

So are you saying that Zope can work *on top* of Zeus ?

Subject: Persistent Server Enviromnet in Perl ?

Hi all,

I am looking for a way to maintain a persistent Perl environment on a
web server, which would be server-independent.

Let me explain what I mean:
I know about mod_perl and PerlEx, but mod_perl appears to
be Apache-specific ( right ? ), and PerlEx is IIS-specific.
Unfortunately, my providers are running Zeus 3.4. So, how should I go
about the persistency ? Ideally, it should be server-independent, or is
there such a thing at all ?

Perhaps I am missing something obvious, can someone
please give me a clue ?

Thanks,
Eugene Haimov

Hello,

Maybe you can consider Zope! Although it is created by using Python but
it does support Perl, too. Also it does not require you to use either
Apache or IIS. You can use either one or you can use web server come
with it!! Check http://www.zope.org.
