The only quick timing i can think of getting is using the select function :

        select(undef, undef, undef, 0.01);

I dont know if this will work for you, but thought i would mention it...

PS : Im guessing that if you have that kind of a timing requirement, perl is

comming close to not being able to work for you.

Subject: Accurate Timers

I am trying to find a way of timing a function that will provide at least
millisecond responses.

I have tried "times()" and used "time-hires" installation, but both only
appear to provide accuarcy to just one hundredth of a
second.

Is there anyway that anybody knows how to use Perl to provide greater
accuracy to at least one millisecond (or even greater) ?

Cheers
T
