Tony I feel you have a beating coming! Tee Hee! How dare you! I don't understand why people bad mouth perl so much. It is a very useful language. It can do everything PHP can and more. I don't think PHP is capable of half the stuff is it? I only see PHP being used for CGI, and I'm not familiar with it. But it seems to me from what I can see all you can do with it is CGI. Perl also taught me how to program. I was so lost with C when I hit dynamic data stuctures. But perl is so silly it allows you to forget about memory allocation, pointers, and all this complicated stuff for novices, and lets you just "play". It was very useful to use for developing my analytical mind. I still even tinker with anglo's in it. I made a hash system that uses arrays, basically the same type of hash that perl has. Its only 1d right now, but still, I was able to use perl to very easily check the formulas I developed. I also think parot looks promising. So I would stay tuned, perl for sure!

Actually, Q-Basic (QuickBasic) is not a bad little language at all. And
come to think of it, it's the last GOOD language ever to come out of
Microsoft.
