I didn't know there's so many views on top posting! Reading through the
comments and the replies,
here are my thoughts and actions:
1. Bill is an active member of the mailing list. He has helped many
people including me in better understanding some of the finer points
with the language, and I am grateful for that. Someone said that he's
cranky. But I never really saw him that way. Thanks Bill.
2. Someone also said that OE enforces top posting. I've been using OE to
write and respond to stuff on this mailing list. Last I checked
(http://aspn.activestate.com/ASPN/Mail/Message/ActivePerl/2842492) OE
seems to be doing a fair job at NOT top posting. But anyway, I enjoy the
energies in this mailing list, and am switching to a dedicated email
address specially for mailing lists, and I'm using ThunderBird to manage
this account.
3. Most of the people I see on this mailing list are adults and
professional dudes. If you are one of them, please refrain from making
emotional comments like 'if you top-post, you are a loser and so is your
mom'. Dude, grow up.
