MySQL does not store procedures.

Otherwise, it's a great database server, plus it's freeware.

Its syntax is sometimes a little "different" but the Usenet newsgroups
are VERY helpful.

It's usually part of the PHP/MySQL/Linux trio.

MySQL is a relational database, AFAIK. What it wasn't (until the latest
release) was transactional.
