-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Are you trying to fix/enhance a current search? Or are you charged with implementing a new search?
. Remove deleted pages from search results - most indexing programs will do this for you, they generally work by indexing the filesystem. Attrified files will dissapear depending on your scanning schedule. MS Index server scans as the filesystem changes, so updates are pretty quick. . Remove multiple hits to same page - again index server does this. Depends on your solution. . Include vendor-hosted pages in search results - I am not familiar w/ what you are referring to. Do you mean other sites are to be included in your search? Will they provide you an index, or do you have to built one by issuing HTTP requests? . Enable search results to return in site hierarchy order, instead of random order - I am not sure index server does this, but if your files are stored in directories that parallel you site hierarchy, then you should be able to easily implement this. Are most of your pages static or dynamic? What do you currently use for site searching? Sorry for all the questions, but you have a lot of choices, and they depend greatly on your requirements, and site arch.
