Maybe adding some sort of categorization to your items in the list?
ActiveX is too related to the MS platform (imho), so I never use it. Java is so damn slow, I never use it either. But in your case, given the choice, Id probably use Java. You coud always just ~borrow~ their applet/source. -----Original Message----- From: Paul Broomfield [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Sunday, September 08, 2002 9:24 PM To: ActiveServerPages Subject: List Applet/Active X hello, I want to create or buy an applet or activeX control that has the same functionality as the list applet at: http://www.companies.govt.nz/ on the left hand nav select NZ Companies Office then Current Name Search they've got a cool java applet that when you enter the first few letters of a company name it display everything that matches that in a text box below that and as you type more letters is narrows the results displayed. I've built a version in ActiveX but speed was a problem as I've got a few thousand records. does anyone have any ideas thanks Paul --- You are currently subscribed to activeserverpages as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to %%email.unsub%% --- You are currently subscribed to activeserverpages as: [email protected] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
