Hi,

Seems you can do this without java/ActiveX-es. I looked at it and seems it
is a request based so why build second browser in Java (even simplest
possible) if you have one already?. Use a kind of IFRAME and a little client
side Javascript to control it and it will be done - even better. I am using
a slow connection and believe me applets are not good in such case.

Subject: List Applet/Active X

hello,

I want to create or buy an applet or activeX control that has the same
functionality as the list applet at:

http://www.companies.govt.nz/
on the left hand nav select
NZ Companies Office
then
Current Name Search

they've got a cool java applet that when you enter the first few letters
of a company name it display everything that matches that in a text box
below that and as you type more letters is narrows the results displayed.

I've built a version in ActiveX but speed was a problem as I've got a few
thousand records.

does anyone have any ideas
thanks
Paul
