According to "SQL Instant Reference" by Martin Gruber, SQL is pronounce
"sequel". And yes, Sequel was an IBM product name for (one of?) their
initial relational database product. Much of the development of the
relational theory and the SQL language took place in the IBM research labs
in the late 60's and early 70's.

Tore.

However the heck you wanna say it :-). I say ASP, I rarely pronounce
acronyms (except for SCSI [scuzzy]). In the case of SQL, sequel is an
old IBM (I think) product, and thus sequel is not the same as SQL.

Is it pronounced asp like the snake (sounds like ash) or A-S-P
(ay-ess-pee)?
