I'd agree with that last statement. If you KNOW you're going to .Net and do not know EITHER of the languages, why learn one that you're probably not going to use? Is it just because it's called ASP in some way?
That's almost like saying you're going to learn JavaScript before diving into Java. Most techniques are vastly different from what I've seen between the 2 languages. Now if you currently are trying to get a Classic ASP job or have one already, of course you need to get up to speed on that, but if you're looking towards making a splash in the future and are just learning, go with .Net Chris Tifer http://www.emailajoke.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Matthew Small" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "ActiveServerPages" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Monday, October 07, 2002 6:55 AM Subject: RE: classic asp/asp.net > I highly recommend learning ASP.NET first - it's the future. > Matthew Small > IT Supervisor > Showstopper National Dance Competitions > 3660 Old Kings Hwy > Murrells Inlet, SC 29576 > 843-357-1847 > http://www.showstopperonline.com > -----Original Message----- > From: deb [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Sunday, October 06, 2002 9:44 AM > To: ActiveServerPages > Subject: classic asp/asp.net > > Hi, I have been learning the classic asp.
