Hi Meg, At the University of Kansas, we are in the process of updating our campus smoking policy to include the prohibition of electronic cigarettes.
An example from outside higher education - I have learned that our state's turnpike authority has recently passed a policy that they will no longer hire smokers or individuals whose spouses smoke. >From http://www.ksturnpike.com/employment: KTA will not consider for >employment persons who smoke or use other tobacco products and whose spouse >smokes or uses tobacco products. Thanks, Amy Amy E. Smith, M.S.E. Since our current policy does not cover the 'new electronic' cigarettes, students are pushing the envelope by 'smoking' on these during classes to the distraction of other students and their professors.
