Anu:

At this point, our medical center policies are located behind the medical
center firewall, so only medical center employees have access to them. We are
in the process of evaluating as to whether or not we will continue with this
approach. We have a lot of duplication of work as we translate
"university-wide" policies to "medical center" policies. It is complicated by
the fact that we don't separate policies and procedures into separate documents
here at Ohio State. And - there is reluctance to bring them out from behind
the firewall from some of the medical center staff.

I'm interested in what others have to say.

Here is the Ohio State policy website, which is being redesigned over the next
few months: http://www.osu.edu/policies/

I can't provide access to the medical center policy website, as it is behind
the firewall.

Subject: [acupa-l] Scope of the U-wide Policy Library

Dear Colleagues,

I would like to address a question to those policy administrators amongst the
ACUPA membership who are managing policy libraries for universities which
includes medical schools and clinical facilities (owned or affiliated) who are
referred to as academic medical centers or academic health centers.

Here is a question and a request:

1. Are the policies retaining to university's clinical operations
included within U-wide policy library or are maintained separately by the
individual clinical entity?

2. In either case, could you please send me links to the table of
contents for the policy library (ies): a single all inclusive for all
policies or separate one for non- clinical operations and the one
for clinical operations)?

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and support. Best.

Anu
