The only policy at Wake Tech that specifically says "zero tolerance" is the
Title IX (Sexual Misconduct). Our other policies that fall under the
descriptions you provided fall under the Student Code of Conduct, so there are
different disciplinary penalties.

Thanks,
Rachel

Subject: [acupa-l] Zero-Tolerance for Inappropriate Behaviors

Hello ACUPA members,
I received a question from a member of the Diversity Council here at the
University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. One of the Diversity Council's
goals is to develop a policy mandating a zero-tolerance culture for
inappropriate speech or behaviors regarding race, culture, ethnicity, etc. The
policy would likely overlap a few areas such as professionalism and conduct
with the aim being supporting a culture of acceptance and trust among faculty,
staff, and students.

Do any of your institutions have a policy or language in a policy relating to
zero-tolerance approach to such speech or behavior?

Thank you in advance.
