NJ requires public employees to live in-state; exceptions are permitted for specific functions (including faculty).

Due to potential issues such as termination pay, overtime, direct deposit requirements, minimum wage rates, new hire reporting, paid leave, new-hire background checks, withholding taxes, state unemployment insurance, workers' compensation coverage, and state registration issues, it is vital that requests to allow employees to live and work outside North Dakota are carefully reviewed and approved in advance to avoid potential liability issues for UND. Is your institution dealing with the same issue and if so, have you addressed it through policy? Any feedback or examples would be greatly appreciated
