Jen: Ohio State doesn't have such a policy.
I checked with our colleges/units that I know have employees outside of Ohio and they don't have a job aid for the process. Our University Advancement HR director said they usually schedule a phone appointment between the individual being hired and a benefits consultant. Good luck! -Eunice Eunice Hornsby, Ph.D. Policy and Training Director The Ohio State University Office of University Compliance and Integrity 1543 N. Due to potential issues such as termination pay, overtime, direct deposit requirements, minimum wage rates, new hire reporting, paid leave, new-hire background checks, withholding taxes, state unemployment insurance, workers' compensation coverage, and state registration issues, it is vital that requests to allow employees to live and work outside North Dakota are carefully reviewed and approved in advance to avoid potential liability issues for UND. Is your institution dealing with the same issue and if so, have you addressed it through policy? Any feedback or examples would be greatly appreciated.
