Dear ACUPA members,

As vice chair for administration, I have had the pleasure of sitting on a
small subcommittee that was charged with evaluating and devloping the
mission, vision, and values for our organization. The subcommittee was
chaired by ACUPA member Andrei Trifonov, from the University of California
President’s Office. The group had several meetings to discuss the current
mission statement for ACUPA, which is available at acupa.org. In addition,
we were to consider a vision statement and values. I have placed the
results of our discussions below. Please note that the subcommittee decided
that ACUPA is best represented by a Mission Statement and a set of Values,
but that a Vision Statement would be superfluous.

I am writing to you today to ask for any input you may have on the
committee’s deliverable, the *ACUPA Mission and Values*. If you have
questions or comments, please direct them to me at [email protected]. If we
don’t hear from you by Friday, May 8, we’ll assume that you approve of this
material, and we will place it in the ACUPA Member Orientation Handbook,
which we are in the process of developing.

Thank you very much!
