Hello all. I hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend.
We're looking for examples of policies at other institutions that address State Authorization. As you may know, colleges/universities are required to comply with state laws/regulations if we offer distance education, practical experiences, or face-to-face education outside of our home state. States expect institutions to obtain approval before enrolling students, advertising, marketing, or performing other regulated activities within their state. We've seen several examples of where the "state authorization" work is located at the institution (e.g., offices of the president, provost, compliance and integrity, distance education, etc.), and we're sure there are additional structures out there. The common theme, though, is a unit coordinating on behalf of the institution with many institutional stakeholders who are required to contribute to remaining in good standing. We are looking to draft a policy or other governing document to address State Authorization, and are hoping that you if you have such a document, that you'd share it...
