Good afternoon, I received a question today from a peer institution on how multi-campus university systems handle the awarding of honorary degrees. Namely, if a particular campus or institution within a system does not offer an academic doctoral program, is that particular campus or institution able to offer an honorary doctorate, or are honorary doctorates only offered from institutions within the system that do have supporting academic doctoral programs?
Our System structure with multi-campus institutions is relatively new and evolving, so right now our flagship campus is the only one in our system with an honorary degree policy.
