Hi Shannon:

I meant to reply to earlier post by Deena McCord-Merrill of UNT titled
Policy Management Software, but got sidetracked in my “Policy Quest”, so
here I am responding at last. Hopefully both Deena and you will find it
helpful.

Few months ago we acquired PowerDMS Suite to manage our policies and
although we are far from reaching our goal it is a tool worth
considering. What distinguished them from its competitors was their
willingness to work with us to suit our needs, whereas others were less
flexible.

I would not say it was designed with academia in mind, but as I
mentioned they are flexible. You will find that police departments of
large schools make up a major share of their clients. As far as
tracking, versioning, and approvals it can be a great tool as well as to
allow end users to provide feedback on policies, procedures, offer
compliance/training courses for staff etc.

We never had a robust policy management tool and are starting from scratch.

Best,
David Khoperia
