Hello everyone,

I have been asked to do an initial draft of a college policy which recognizes
the Faculty Senate and College Assembly in a shared governance relationship.
Does anyone have samples of something like this they would be willing to share,
that might include areas such as establishment of the organizations, how they
are facilitated, budgeted, and if or how salaries of their respective executive
committees are paid?

Thanks,

Hi, Meg,

Sadly, we have no such official university policy at Cornell. Here, the faculty
senate is actually under the aegis of the Office of the Assemblies. The
Assemblies are: Faculty Senate, University Assembly, Employee Assembly,
Student Assembly, Graduate and Professional Student Assembly.

Here's the overview page; from this page you can link to a great deal of
information, including an overview, a history of shared governance and, I
believe, charters.

Good luck!
