Deena, We have no such policy at Cornell; this is handled simply as a non-published SOP by our Police Department.

Just curious if anyone has a policy (or policies) on Unclaimed Property. We have one currently related to those items that funnel through the police department due to a case or investigation, etc, but we have some folks looking to draft one for non-police acquired property (such as lost and found in student union, residence halls, etc.) where there would be an auction and proceeds go to scholarship. We're trying to reduce our policy manual volume from nearly 300 to closer to 200, so I'd rather not add another miscellaneous policy if we can attach the content elsewhere. Just curious what other campuses may be doing here... Thanks!
