We tried SharePoint before PowerDMS. SharePoint never got traction with our administrators. So far, PowerDMS significantly better received, and very affordable. But that is just what works our workflow system and culture here. Not sure exactly why it was a SharePoint fail (before my time) here. I know PowerDMS was created for law enforcement originally, so not sure if it would be a great medical related fit -- but they would be able to tell you if they have any clients in that industry so you could possibly get a recommendation from one of those. That is how we started with them - asked them to put us in touch with some of their higher ed clients if the client was open to providing a review. Good luck in finding the right solution!

So far we have met with Navex PolicyTech ($$$) and, since we are an academic medical center, a more hospital-focused policy management company. Power DMS is next on my list. 1) Does anyone use a SharePoint based system? 2) If so, which one? 3) Are you satisfied with its performance? 4) Why or why not? 5) Did you reject any SharePoint based systems? 6) Why? Any information is appreciated! Thanks! Pat Dean-Love, MSM Talk first, email later.
