Good morning, The Policy Oversight Workgroup (POW) for UMB has representation from legal, finance, academic affairs, compliance, and HR. It is a rather small committee and as we expect the policy owner to really work with individual departments or schools on the vetting process.

It's cloudy, but not too cold here in Indiana today. Taking a break from the rain we've had the last couple days. At Purdue, we have partial flat-rate tuition. Fall and spring tuition is charged per credit hour up to 7 credits. For 8 or more, it's a flat rate. In the summer, the same per-credit rate is charged up to 5 hours, with a flat rate for students taking 6-9 hours, and then the per-credit rate is added on for any hours over 9. You can see the breakdown here: https://www.purdue.edu/bursar/tuition/feerates/2016-2017/underGraduate/fallSpring.html I believe some of our scholarships have 4-year incentives associated with them. There was also a push a couple years ago to add more courses to our summer offerings, and a Think Summer campaign<http://www.purdue.edu/thinksummer/index.html> was launched with that. It's rather rainy here in Washington, DC today. Do any of your institutions have an annual flat tuition rate? For example, an undergraduate student, who is in good financial and academic standing, can take additional courses over the summer without incurring additional cost provided they have paid the flat tuition rate for that academic year. I am also interested in any incentives your intuitions may have to encourage students to complete their undergraduate degrees in 4 years or sooner. Thanks much. ALE [cid:[email protected]]Anita L.
