Hi Brenda,

My institution deals with this in a way similar to Michele and Minnesota.
Regulations are noted with hypertext links to outside sites, and it is the
responsibility of the policy owner to ensure that links are current in the
policies they own.

Additionally, we attempt, whenever possible, to place all hypertext links
(regulations or other) into the "Related Resources" section of our policies,
and we strongly discourage links in random places in the text of policies.
That way, checking links involves reading only one small section of a policy,
and not scouring the whole thing for embedded hypertext links.

Subject: [acupa-l] hyperlinking to state law in your policies

To all the Lawyers and Lawyerly Policy Directors out there,

I inherited policy that includes hyperlinks to state annotated codes, as the
codes were updated the links have become out of date. Does anyone else include
links to state law, how do make sure the most current law is being cited in
your policy and/or what other best practices are employed in writing policy
mandated by law?

We are observing summer efficiency hours. I am available from 7-4:30 M-TH. We
are closed on Fridays.
