Bonnie, Does the config.xml automatically use the EnterpriseWW.msi installer to install...??
And....this install is separate from the EnterpriseWW.msp, in the updates folder, that could be created using the OCT (Office Customizaton Tool)..?? Yes, GPO install is awful compared to what you could do with 2003 and earlier, but you should be able to do what you are trying to do. <Configuration Product="Enterprise"> <Display Level="Basic" CompletionNotice="yes" SuppressModal="no" AcceptEula="yes" /> <Logging Type="Verbose" Path="%temp%" Template="Filename(*).txt" /> <PIDKEY Value="PRODUCTIDKEY" /> <USERNAME Value="USERNAME" /> <COMPANYNAME Value="COMPANYNAME" /> <INSTALLLOCATION Value="%programfiles%\Microsoft Office" /> <OptionState Id="ACCESSFiles" State="Local" Children="force" /> <OptionState Id="EXCELFiles" State="Local" Children="force" /> <OptionState Id="GrooveFiles" State="Absent" Children="force" /> <OptionState Id="OneNoteFiles" State="Local" Children="force" /> <OptionState Id="OUTLOOKFiles" State="Local" Children="force" /> <OptionState Id="PPTFiles" State="Local" Children="force" /> <OptionState Id="PubPrimary" State="Local" Children="force" /> <OptionState Id="RMSFiles" State="Local" Children="force" /> <OptionState Id="VisualStudio_PreviewerServer_SPD" State="Absent" Children="force" /> <OptionState Id="WORDFiles" State="Local" Children="force" /> <OptionState Id="XDOCSFiles" State="Local" Children="force" /> <OptionState Id="SHAREDFiles" State="Local" Children="force" /> <OptionState Id="TOOLSFiles" State="Local" Children="force" /> <Setting Id="Reboot" Value="IfNeeded" /> <ARP ARPCONTACT="TECHDEPTINFO" /> <ARP ARPHELPTELEPHONE="TECHSUPPORTPHONE#" /> </Configuration> -Bonnie From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, June 24, 2008 9:15 AM To: Active Directory Admin Issues Subject: RE: Deploying Office 2007 using GPO I can get the full version of Office 2007 deployed, but when I try to configure the config.xml to allow only certain Office apps to be installed, it only installs Outlook. I ended up using the setup.exe /admin switch, creating a .msp which get’s stored in the Updates folder. Then I created a bat file calling out the setup.exe. This is what I used in GP. It took me a while to get it working but eventually it did. According to the Microsoft docs, you must use configure the config.xml file to setup up your office installation tasks. Does anyone have a sample of a config.xml file they are using? I'm having a little issue with mine. It appears to be on the "command path" setting. Below is a sample of mine. <Configuration Product="Enterprise"> <Display Level="none" CompletionNotice="no" SuppressModal="yes" AcceptEula="yes" /> <Logging Type="standard" Path="%temp%" Template="Microsoft Office Enterprise Setup(*).txt" /> <PIDKEY Value="9999999999" /> <USERNAME Value="HOD" /> <COMPANYNAME Value="Virginia House of Delegates" /> <INSTALLLOCATION Value="%programfiles%\Microsoft Office" /> <LIS CACHEACTION="CacheOnly" /> <SOURCELIST Value="\\server\msi$\Office2007" /> <DistributionPoint Location="\\server\msi$\Office2007" /> <OptionState Id="ACCESSFiles" State="absent" /> <OptionState Id="GrooveFiles" State="absent" /> <OptionState Id="OneNoteFiles" State="absent" /> <OptionState Id="OUTLOOKFiles" State="absent" /> <OptionState Id="PubPrimary" State="absent" /> <OptionState Id="RMSFiles" State="absent" /> <OptionState Id="XDOCSFiles" State="absent" /> <Setting Id="Reboot" Value="IfNeeded" /> <Command Path="\\server\msi$\Office2007\Enterprise.WW\EnterpriseWW.msi" Args=/i QuietArg="/q" ChainPosition="after" Execute="install" /> </Configuration> Troy Adkins Network Administrator Virginia House of Delegates 804.698.1567 (O) 804.771.7917 (F) ~ NEW: CounterSpy Enterprise: Centralized Antispyware - #1 in eWEEK Test! ~ ~ ~ ~ NEW: CounterSpy Enterprise: Centralized Antispyware - #1 in eWEEK Test! ~ ~ ~ ~ NEW: CounterSpy Enterprise: Centralized Antispyware - #1 in eWEEK Test! ~ ~ ~ ~ NEW: CounterSpy Enterprise: Centralized Antispyware - #1 in eWEEK Test! ~ ~ ~ ~ NEW: CounterSpy Enterprise: Centralized Antispyware - #1 in eWEEK Test! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbelt-software.com/product.cfm?id=400> ~
